Tweet My Time
Just wanted to quickly touch on TweetMyTime here. It’s a cool twitter app we developed for the Columbus Marathon. However, it can work for any event that relays electronic information of participating athletes. Here’s a great synopsis from Sarah Irvin-Clark, Irvin PR:
Twitter is all the rage these days, and your experience in the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon can be cutting edge thanks to this technological phenomenon.
For the first time ever in a running or walking event, participants in this year’s race can have reports of their progress automatically “tweeted” at each of five checkpoints along the course! These updates will include the athlete’s progress and estimated finish time, and can even be sent to Facebook!
TweetMyTime is a FREE service that works with the ChampionChip timing device each registered athlete will wear on race day to record his or her time.
To participate in this free service, registered participants in the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon can sign up at TweetMyTime.com. For those not yet registered, visit columbusmarathon.com for registration information (may take up to 48 hours to verify registration). Once registration for both the marathon and TweetMyTime is confirmed, the program will kick in as soon as the start line is crossed on race day!
You can also read a blog post about why you should use TweetMyTime.
So there you have it! If you’re running the Columbus Marathon sign up today!
